Dorrock

PC, Initiate of Humakt

Gorrock was born son to Storn Ogresbane who earned his title as a Runelord of the Humakti Cult. His mother was Elysia, daughter of a merchant house, whom Storn met while on cult assignment to her House. Gorrock was raised from childhood with sword in hand, and while he was young his father regalled him with stories of war and stategy. As a result he grew up loving the thrill of war, and the glory and honor of personal combat. His father, a remarkable general, taught him the importance of preparing and planning a battle in advance. Gorrock took to the sword as naturally as a fish to water, and while yet young was inducted into the Humakt temple to further his training. He has heard the stories of Humakt's battles and is a true believer. Halfway through his early fighter training he developed the offhand claw/buckler for use as both offensive and defensive weapon. The claw consists of a gauntlet with three slightly curved round tapered spikes extending over the knuckle, the center spike being longest and heaviest. When the hand is closed in a fist the spikes extend past the knuckles and can be used as a piercing weapon, or as a blade catcher (Use Maine Gauche rules for disarm.) Gorrock parries as with a buckler with the claw/buckler. Gorrock's only love in life is his fighting. He drinks only new or weak wines and ales, besides milk and water. He is staunch in his faith and privately feels that all the other gods are wusses, though he knows that he can't say that outside the temple (it's not PC). He has 2 scars, one on the left leg, above the knee where an opponents sword broke through his armor, and one on the side of the head over the right ear where his father hit him once with a practice sword when he foolishly dropped his guard.

NPC, Lanchor Mye Priest, 52 years old.

  A harmless looking old man who seems to know just about everyone and everything on this Island. Beldor doesn't appear to have too many cares in the world. He loves a good meal and a good mug of ale. His favorite past time is flirting with tavern wenches or playing his flute.

Kahlan

NPC, Amand-Cor Shaman, 42 years old

  At 17 while still an initate of Amand-Cor, Kahlan was giving in to his curiousity one day and he wandered out of the swamps and into the farmlands. There he met a Lanchor Mye Priest named Da-lar Koburn. Forming an instant friendship, Kahlan traveled with Da-lar for several years. Eventually he accepted initiation into the Lanchor Mye cult. He and Da-lar traveled the south-eastern portion of the Island, together as teacher and student, for 15 years.
  Then, upon hearing of the death of his father, Kahlan returned to his people where he found his true vocation. He rejected the teachings of Lanchor Mye, and accepted his place as the tribal shaman. While his wanderlust has never died, he recognizes that his place is with his people, leading and protecting them.

Lorinda Galenson

NPC, Humakt High Priestess, 5' 10'' tall, brown eyes and hair. Very beautiful.

  Her slender figure is truly misleading of her strength and combat ability. She doesn't use bully tactics to command. Instead she explains the rules and expects them to be obeyed. She was elevated to Sword very quickly. Youngest Sword ever to be seated as either Warlord or High Priest (The first female High Priest). Proved her ability to lead and manage during the Stormbull rebellion of 252. Very strict disciplinarian. Only formal attire and attitudes are allowed in the Hall of Honor and the Temple worship areas. The Humakt Cult has thrived under her control for the last few years.
  She has been known to have 'spent time' in the company of a Sword, one older initiate, and for a while, a Merchant from Kargarden. She doesn't try and hide her affairs from the population. But she is usually discrete, and expects the same discretion and courtesy from her underlings. A few rebuked suitors were rumored to have been told that 'the proper overseeing of Humakt's children leaves little time for concerns of the heart'.

Roubert Divarian

NPC, Humakt Warlord, 6' 3" tall, gray eyes, brown (now gray) hair. 50 years old.

  Roubert is in remarkable condition for a warrior with as much experience as he has had. He has served as the Warlord or High Priest of this temple for most of the last 23 years. Occasionally a Sword will jest that he has spent to much time behind a desk. Or he will overhear an initiate refer to him as the old man. The offender is usually marched onto the practice ground, then soundly thrashed. On the rare occasions when he will work out in the practice yard, the event usually draws a lot of interest. Recently when Roubert and Lorinda squared off in a practice challenge the demonstration had to be moved out to the highway so everyone could find room to watch.

Phortan Brokenclaw

NPC, Basmoli - Clan Chieftain, Village of Lionskeep

  Phortan is the social and military leader of the Village of Lionskeep. He is missing his left hand. In 252 ARK during a confrontation with a group of Bulls and Swords, Phortan took exception to a comment made by a woman wearing the sign of the sword. He called upon the divine power of Basmol, transformed himself into a mighty lion and attacked the woman. Two other men also wearing signs of the sword moved to intervene between Phortan and the woman. But Photan's rage was such that he stuck them down before they could draw their weapons. However, the woman had time to draw a large sword made of a metal such as no one had ever seen before. With it she struck Phortan a single blow, and chopped off his left paw. Unable to continue the battle Phortan was forced to surrender. He still harbors resentful feelings against the Bulls and the Swords.

Wailmer Tawnyhide

NPC, Basmoli - Shaman of the village of Lionskeep

  Wailmer is the spiritual leader of the Basmoli village of Lionskeep. He is also recognized as the leader of the various other Shamans that travel with the nomadic Phardaren. However there is no official high shaman rank. This leadership is his solely because of his age and wisdom. Wailmer is a calm, level headed man, who does his best to keep his flock on the path Basmol would want them to walk. He is also a good, and old friend of Beldor's. When the two of them get together, they will recount younger times far into the night. While empting many bottles of wine.
